If our company is anything to go by I think it will be a long time before
many companies migrate to Vista. I have only (and I am by no means alone)
have only been migrated to XP in June 2005. Before that, many of us were
using NT.

I'd only say here guys, well, in response to Paddy's earlier comment about
Vista, don't hold
your breath there.

From what GW Micro have been saying I get the impression that, as ready or
nearly ready as
Vista may be for consumer release, the access side of it is still very much
a work in
progress. GW are committed to releasing a service pack or upgrade as part
of the upgrade
price, whether you are paying directly for the V6 upgrade, or getting it as
part of your
SMAA.

Office 2007 though shouldn't be a problem if the demos GW have been airing
are anything to
go by.

I just pity those who may be forced down the Vista route early on because of
it being
installed in work settings. I'm inclined to think Vista, is best left alone
for a while
until things become clearer as to the quality of accessability to it for us.
Even now it is
being said a Vista Service pack one will be along by the autumn of 2007.

Windoweye's is definitly a different animal and I get frustrated when i
don't know how to perform various reading tasks and I just need to get the
job done.

However, i feel Windoweye's is the wisest route to go.

I will spare you all a rant on Jaws. My comments speak for themselves on my
previous message.

Hi,
I like most people am staying away from Jaws 8 and am migrating to
WindowEyes as much as possible. I am still falling back to the jaws
keystrokes quite a bit, but am getting there.

Why they released version 8 days after releasing the 7.10 update was a
mystery - they had precious time to do more tests on it, plus make version 8
a Vista compatible upgrade!

Andrew.

This is shocking.

I've just been reading the latest disaster and can not believe somebody is
honestly going to pay for this.

This thing isn't even supporting Vista for goodness sake!

And what is all that SAPI Alia's stuff about in say all?

OMG, that's a new feature?

More and more nonsense!

I'm raging because, I like many wasted my money on this rubbish for years!

I'm disgusted because, many still will! Also rehab agency's and that whole
area will thrust this product on unsuspecting souls.

Note: this is a consumers viewpoint and I think it's utter pooh.
