English as in U.K. English? That's what you been raised on after all!
While I started out being taught "King's/Queen's English" by teachers
with a heavy German accent, the vast majority of the almost 30 years
I have been exposed to English, it was the variety of our
over-thepond friends. <g> I actually kind of like the UK english of
the hardware Apollo synths. They sound more "British" to me than
stuffy-nosed British Eloquence does to my second-language speaker ears. <g>
So that's my two euro cents worth - about 1.5 of your pennies if I
have the exchange rate right ... <g>

I'm going to throw in my two pennys worthhere. I am not a jaws user but do have a demo copy on my machine. With both window-eyes and jaws, I prefer the english elloquents.

if automatic language switching is otherwise desired, another option is to modify the install and uninstall the British version of Eloquence. i never install it in the first place.

Do you mean the automatic language switching? Bring up the HTML Options sheet from the Default JAWS Configuration Manager and make sure that the "Detect Language" check box is unchecked.
