To be more on topic for this thread, Brian and T & T are a business and if they
find their are enough punters willing to pay what they are asking then that's
the price, I'm afraid. And, as I say, I cannot see an argument for Itunes and
Ipods being essential bits of kit.

there's another intriguing possibility though. What if Brian and T & T were
offered a nice price by one of the big charities to sell the licences at a
discount? As far as many are concerned here, that would win the tired old
leviathan some friends back from some of their more recent silly and unpopular
moves.

Same goes of course for Telks software. Or the Government could, I suppose, up
DLA a little to make the whole thing a bit less painful. I'd rather see
Government set standards and maybe chip in a subsidy to a well thought out
scheme for increasing personal ownership of these desirable goodies, but more
in the cause of overall access, rather than a subsidy to listen to our
favourite music.
