[access-uk] Re: Is this the end for accessibility to Nokia mobile phones?

Now, A nano sized I-phone would be ok, although I still don't like the
slimness. Fussy bugger, or what?

One of the best things I like about my N86 is that it has the K-NFB reader.
Would it work on an I-phone or is there a similarly accurate ap?

Cheers

Barry

Barry are you aware that a Nano sized iPhone is rumoured to launch later
this year.

Only if it has a good vibrate alert.

Seriously, if there was a better shaped I-phone, I'd consider it.

Park it in the pouch just inside your trouser/Jeans middle pocket, big boy.

Aside from the steep learning curve for touch screens, for me, it's a matter
of aesthetics. I don't like the shape of the I-phone. Yes, it's thin, but
it's not exactly pocket sized. I keep my mobile in my trouser/jeans pocket,
but the I-phone just won't sit comfortably there.

Hal a loo ya, my god I think he's got it, and you don't need to spend any
more on speech software, as it is built in, and updates are free.

Now to burn those Freedom Scientologists, along with those greedy bankers.

Oh dear. It does seem like Apple is the only viable option. Is there any
access with the Android system?

Cheers

Barry

But I'd rather presumed that MobileSpeak was also dead in the water because
it works on Windows, and, as discussed, the new Windows Mobile 7 operating
system is inaccessible. I understood that MobileSpeak were working on other
income streams to stay afloat. These were just rumours but they seem to make
sense unless a big access solution is pending very soon with Windows.

What is the future for Talks?

I note that Nuance has created some kind of app that works on the iPhone. I
think it's just provision of speech synthesis.

Perhaps we could switch to Mobilespeak? Yes, it means that any of our
investment in Talks is going to go to waste, and also means that we have to
pay for another speech software system, but it's an option.

Nokia have today announced that they are partnering with MicroSoft and will
be using the Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 operating system which is presently
inaccessible.

The noise suggests that the Symbian operating system, which Talks runs on,
will be sidelined.

So, by extension, does this mean that Talks is now dead in the water?

I speak as a long time Talks user who would be a bit disappointed if so.

Is Apple iPhone the only choice left now?
