Hi.
There are several considerations here and although I appreciate that
statement was probably made out of frustration I don't think it actually
represents the potential of Siri.
Obviously when using any kind of voice recognition tool there are loads of
considerations, and most of these hold true with Siri and the IPhone.
All I can say is that from a command and control perspective its
understanding around 80% of what I say, and that has gradually improved over
the past two weeks.
However in the area of text recognition, like dictating a text message, its
certainly around 95%.
The biggest challenge here, as I said on another list yesterday, is that if
your just using the screen rather than a keyboard, correcting recognition
errors can be tricky.
I don't mean to disagree with anything said here, obviously all this is down
to personal experience, and whilst I wouldn't say Siri has revolutionised
the way I use the IPhone its certainly made some tasks faster and easier.

Thanks I've tried Siri and I don't think much of it. It doesn't seem
to respond well. It's a waste of the extra investment in which I had
made. For example I asked Siri to call my wife and it replied I don't
understand or something to that effect. I understand Ibrahim is using
it effectively and I would be facenated to know how he is using Siri
to a good effect. I was in a text composition and wanted to dictate my
message as I thought I could benefit from Siri when it came to texting
and once again the dam thing hung on me.
