I also spoke to them, and was very definitely left with the "contact TNAUK"
statement to update it.

As Damon says though, it's not an ideal way of selling an accessible
Internet radio: £350 plus a £25 subscription per year, sighted help required
to set up WiFi ... And it wasn't even stereo last time I saw it. Oh dear!
(sigh).

Hi Jackie,

I don't think that was true, but they just told you that. It always had a
web interface, because I spoke to Solutions Radio at Sight Villlage and they
told me it did, even in the early days. I would prefer to believe them
rather than TNAUK.

All the best

Steve

Well Steve, whatever the spelling, the version TNAUK sold definitely didn't
let you add your own stations yourself. You most certainly had to phone
them and get it done for you, one reason of a few why I didn't like it.

Hi Jackie,

It is the Sonata, not the Sanata, as in a musical piece.

Hi guys

No, Peter is talking about something different. The Dutch gadget is made by
Solutions Radio, which was originally sold here by TNAUK, and is now being
sold by Wireless For The Blind. Least that's my understanding. I had a
trial of one of these radios, and I didn't think much of it at that time. I
thought it was far too expensive, and the user had limited functionality,
whereby stations needed to be added by TNAUK on your behalf. I don't know
what the situation is now though, I've kind of lost track of it. I believe
it is called the Sanata these days, but still costs an arm and a leg.

The radio that interested me more was the one George demonstrated some years
ago, but which never came to fruition. I never saw it, but I wanted one if
it had come off.

Kind Regards,

J

It was quite a big gizmo and cost around 350 pounds if I recall correctly,
made by a Dutch company. Looked like it did what you'd want it to do but
quite pricey. I couldn't justify it. Nor the space on my night stand.
