Hi Peter. If you're travelling between the UK and Ireland, you don't need to have your dog vaccinated etc., that's only if you're travelling within the EU and outside the EU where you need to have the pet passport issued as you say by Defra, but that's an entirely different kettle of fish and way way off the mark for this list. As you say though, carrying your vet papers whether they're an assistance dog or not is a given, you'd do the same for a child so an animal is no different.
All the best, Ibrahim.-----Original Message----- From: jan112009@xxxxxxx

For they can get too old. you also need to make sure the dog has all its shots. Rabies shot for instance. I don't think its down to the guidedogs for the blind to sort this out for us, though I at first thought they had done, Much of the sorting it turns out is between you and your vet and DEFRA. Guidedogs will offer every assistance and give you the link to DEFRA. I notice as my dog gets older he has a harder time in kennels so its now better to take him on holiday with us. Barry was on radio yesterday morning when I happened to catch him talking about Jo's experience, and Jo herself was on UTV last night which is our local news programme on ITV. I know it's off topic, but you have my support and encouragement to take the b****rds to the cleaners.
