This is exactly the advice I have been given. Since I started doing the weekly print the printer has been no problem but before that I had got through an Epson and two HP's.

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me.

Hi Caroline,

I bought an Epsom C64 last year. A few months after the black ink cartridge
ran out so I replaced it but every third or fourth line was faint. All the
colours would print with no problem. I replaced the black ink cartridge
again but still no change. I did the print test etc. All colours have
separate ink cartridges with this model. Recently I discussed my concern at
a shop which sells cartridges and specialises in doing printing and I asked
were their cartridges Epsom ones or an imitation. The man there informed me
that the C series of Epsom printers were notoriously bad in that if one
didn't use the printer for a while the ink would harden in the tiny hole
where it sprays out. Basically when that happens your printer is useless.
His tip he told me was to print just one page each week to prevent the tiny
holes from becoming blocked by dried ink.
