I think that given previous negative NHS and other public service stories, it
should be covered. It would make a pleasant change.

Thanks George. Ian and I are in touch off list, but it's obviously his
decision whether he thinks there is a good story in this for Disability Now.
Wearing a journalist hat here, I would bite someone's hand off for a story like
that, but it's not my call. I just want to do the right thing here and thank
the relevant people, giving them acknowledgement where it is due. They didn't
just look after me like a baby, they looked after Ian too. They were even
wanting him to stay with me over Christmas because they thought it was terrible
that he had to travel so far. But we declined because of young Ian being on
his own over the holiday. That's the sort of generosity we're talking about
here.

  Thanks again.

    Hi Jackie,

Let's hope Ian Macrae, formerly with In Touch, is following this thread.
Ian is now Editor of "Disability Now" Magazine, and may well be interested in
some good NHS news.

    George.

Already did that last week George, with no suitable response. Have just
done likewise via the web with You and Yours, so we'll see. At the end of the
day, it probably doesn't sound much to anyone else, but I feel passionately
about it because we are all quick to moan when it's not a good outcome, and I
know those people went well beyond the call of duty for Ian and me. That's why
it means so much.

    Thanks though.

Alex, I think it's the one Peter White and company give out at the end of
the programme isn't it? Thanks anyway.

        Jackie

I think this is the general phone number for radio four rather than a
dedicated line for in touch.

Has anyone ever tried to contact the In Touch Action Line on 0800
044044? I've been trying to get hold of them since Friday morning, and it's
just constantly engaged. I don't reckon it's that great a programme to warrant
a constant engaged signal, so I wonder if anyone else has tried and failed to
get through. What I want to do is pass on some positive feedback about my stay
with NHS Grampian. I feel it is very important to do this because of all the
bad publicity the NHS gets, and also in our community. This means a lot to me
as I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the input I received.

I tried Emailing In Touch, and they sent me a reply with a link to
reply to. When I entered on it, I got a gateway error message, so couldn't do
anything about it, hence the phone line. Not getting anywhere fast with In
Touch.

        Jackie
