[access-uk] Re: I'd Like to Buy

Mandy have you tried using the contacts and calendar on your phone. I find on my Nokia E65 they are more than adequate.

Alternatively your welcome to have the Trekker Maestro back, LOL, especially now I've got the wimbledon address thing working!

Thanks to all who replied.

Having just tried the Trekker from HumanWare although this was a
second-hand version of the Trekker Maestro which gave me the idea that I
want a back-up to my phone, I don't want to spend almost the same amount of money on something for just this when I could have kept the Trekker Maestro for £750 so I am opting for the Tadi Talking Organiser although I can't work
out how to pay for it so will have to call them on Monday.
Does anybody have one of these? It seems to answer my requirements and for
roughly ££140 I think it is what I need for an affordable price.
I was hoping to find a demonstration of it as I am nottotally clear about
how you write in the addresses etc, will it be a telephone pad keyboard and can you only have audio playback of yur information which is what I want but
I'd like the option to be able to spell out a name and slowly access a
number digit by digit ifrequired, that kind of thing.
Perhaps I shouldl pay a couple of hundred more for the Nado although I think
it has ohly capacity for 90 contacts which isn't sufficient and do I need
games to play? Probablly not.

Anyway I am very grateful for the help.

Mandy.

I believe it costs around £375, or at least it did a year or so ago.

George Bell may well be able to help on this one.

You can find info on the nano here:
http://www.techno-vision.co.uk/nano.htm
no price is listed but it does say it costs under £600 which in the usual
way of these things probably means it costs £599.99.
it's braile in voice out with a serial port for connection to PC, or a
serial to usb converter to make transfer more convenient. Suspect output to
pc is in text only.

I looked at it 2 or 3 years ago and was quite impressed as an effect low
ocst alternative to the more all singing all dancing PDAs but in the end
didn't buy one, mind you nor did I buy anything else.

Hi Mandy

Sorry I'm a bit late on this one, but I've been playing catch-up with
Emails.

There are several PDA devices on the market, depending I guess on what you
want to pay. VoiceNote, VoiceSense and Pac Mate all come in qwerty or
Braille keyboard flavours. I believe there is also something called the
Nano, about which I know virtually nothing, except that it is cheaper than
any of the above. I also understand the Tadi Organiser is still around
which is even cheaper.

Specifically referring to Pac Mate, let me know if you would like further
information or a demonstration.

Hi All.

I think I know the answer to this question but is there anything on the
market now like a PDA with a tactile keyboard with speech just for keeping
notes andcontacts, addresses, phone numbers etc?

Mandy.
