Sorry to reply to my own message, but the problem is now resolved.  It turns 
out that it had nothing to do with belkin at all and nothing to do with the 
BT hub either.

Audible thought it was a conflict between my Jaws screen reader and audible, 
however, when I spoke to William Burton of S & S he suggested that it may be 
a problem with the Internet Explorer security level, and that is what it 
turned out to be.  Basically, the IE security level was set too high for the 
secure areas on the audible.co.uk site.
