Barry, It seems my battery trouble was a one off, possibly caused by the plug not being in securely. All seems to be well and it's trundled through a good 6 or 7 hours on battery without trouble since yesterday afternoon. There was talk going round that Humanware were testing all the batteries before the units were shipped, but how true this is I don't know.
