Ibrahim,
A good list this for sharing and giving info support of access.
You have answered a question I think that I was wondering and that was that
ZTE has it's own software!
3 connect manager is software of Huawei?
Now if I'm wrong then do please correct me!
Yes I'm using the ZTE on my laptop all the time and it's okay but
perhaps let's not be fooled that faster download speeds are not all that they
are all cracked up to be!
Any more on your endeavours do contact me on or off list!
I was wondering for a while if anyone would get back to me with that original
enquiry!
Perhaps there are only a few of us in that area.
Thanks

Hi Tony.
Yes, as I suspected, you have the older 622 model which has the accessible
software and I have the 627 which has the flaming three connection manager. I
heard somewhere that you don't actually need to use the software to get a
connection going, I'm going to have to hammer three's technical support people
to find out whether there is a way of either using the software using some sort
of command line interface, so I could prepare some batch scripts to do the most
common tasks like connecting and disconnecting, else I'm going to have to
manually connect using windows which is possible on some devices but not on
others.
All the best and thanks for cooperating with me on this.

Ibrahim,
Trust this makes sense to you!
Model number:
MF622 HSDPA USB modem
and below it says:
CE 0678
ZTE.
I received the modem from 3 Ireland about 2 years ago: it's very
accessible.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Ibraahim,
You are far from a pain I assure you!
Now should this need off list then we can do that but for now at any
rate I will check for sure and let you know.
You just needd the model number of the ZTE modem I have?
Not great on this but the Huawei had 3 connection manager but when I
checked when returning to it, the ZTE I couldn't find such software!
Is it that ZTE would have it's own?
A friend from Accenture was telling me that download speed is often
dependent on contention and network coverage, and if you get the speed they say
then you maybe up very close to a mast and then perhaps you are the only one on
there!
A great access list this!
Tony

Hi Tony.
I hate to be a pane, but could you get the model of the ZTE modem you
have? The reason I ask is that I have a ZTE modem here as I might have
mentioned, I won it free in a competition I entered but it has this
inaccessible three connection manager software which leads me to think that
Three not ZTE load these modems with the dashboard of the moment whatever that
may be. On my Huawei stick model E169G, the software is reasonably usable but
on my E1750 Huawei modem, that's the one that uses the birdstep software again
which is unusable with jaws.
All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,
The Huawei I was sent uses 3 connection manager but don't know
about ZTE but can check.
The ZTE modem I have is two years old but is very accessible.
I did broach this subject about two years ago on this list but am
disappointed indeed that nothing appears to have progressed re
accessibility-wise with mobile broadband!
It would be interesting to know if there are any other accessible
modems out there.
any folks expeeriences of same do let us know.
Thanks
Tony Sweeney

Hi Tony.
I have a ZTE modem as well as the Huawei. The Huawei I'm afraid
to say is
totally inaccessible. It uses a program made by Birdstep
Technology who
haven't seen fit to either label graphics with meaningful text
captions, nor
provide any shortcuts for use with the keyboard. Oddly though, I
also have
a ZTE modem, yet find the software totally unusable as well. The
software
on my ZTE is 3 connection manager, is this the same on your
modem? The only
Huawei modem I have is the E169G which is old but the program has
the
shortcut keys I need to get online.
All the best, Ibrahim.
