  I hate to be a pane, but could you get the model of the ZTE modem you have?  
The reason I ask is that I have a ZTE modem here as I might have mentioned, I 
won it free in a competition I entered but it has this inaccessible three 
connection manager software which leads me to think that Three not ZTE load 
these modems with the dashboard of the moment whatever that may be.  On my 
Huawei stick model E169G, the software is reasonably usable but on my E1750 
Huawei modem, that's the one that uses the birdstep software again which is 
unusable with jaws.

    The Huawei I was sent uses 3 connection manager but don't know about ZTE 
but can check. 

    The ZTE modem I have is two years old but is very accessible. 

    I did broach this subject about two years ago on this list but am 
disappointed indeed that nothing appears to have progressed re 
accessibility-wise with mobile broadband! 

    It would be interesting to know if there are any other accessible modems 
out there. 

     any folks expeeriences of same do let us know.

      I have a ZTE modem as well as the Huawei.  The Huawei I'm afraid to say 
is 
      totally inaccessible.  It uses a program made by Birdstep Technology who 
      haven't seen fit to either label graphics with meaningful text captions, 
nor 
      provide any shortcuts for use with the keyboard.  Oddly though, I also 
have 
      a ZTE modem, yet find the software totally unusable as well.  The 
software 
      on my ZTE is 3 connection manager, is this the same on your modem?  The 
only 
      Huawei modem I have is the E169G which is old but the program has the 
      shortcut keys I need to get online.
