Hi Audrey,
These files appear when your system is not shut down
properly. See the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 285798 for details.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=3Dkb;EN-US;2857
98 and I'd better add some text in case those infernal
equals signs get added to the URL.
George.

Subject: [access-uk] How do I get rid of perflib.dat files?
Hello all,
I am running windows XP with service pack 2 and JFW 5.0.
For the last few days I have had a strange problem, I have
been trying to empty my windows temp folder in the usual
way, there are 2 files in there that refuse to be deleted,
Perflib.dat and perflib.txt. When ever I start my computer
another of these appears. A friend said it could be a sort
of virus, they have actually got rid of them themselves, but
can't for the life of them remember how.
Has anyone any ideas ?
