Hi Adrien
sds is "Self directed support"

It works like this:

First you need an assessment by social services.
This is to establish what sort of help and support you need.
What are you not able to do that you want to do?
Think about home life, as well as social life.

Once the assessment is over, you may then be offered funding
(known as a personal budget)
You can then use this budget to pay for Human help (ie employ someone)
Or r pay a care agency.
You can also use the money for equipment.
You must keep records, and account for the money.

Do a search on your local social services web stie
Fpr more details.
Rega rds, Derek
