Hi Christine.

I think different councils have different application processes, depending on that council's structure. In Peterborough, I had to apply to the adult social care team who came and performed a financial assessment and helped me do all the paperwork, the funds get paid to me by the primary care trust in to my nominated (though separate) bank account. I have to send them financial statements every three months or so, showing exactly what I used the money for, plus of course bank records to back said statements up, but even there I'm lucky as my support worker used to work in the financial services industry and thus knows his way round excel with uncanny proficiency *smile*.

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone knows of where I can apply for help with the cost of Access Technology as I'm unemployed at the moment and would really like to purchase such things as a scanner plus software, and a full working version of JAWS for starters (I have the demo version of JAWS 11 and am fed up with having to reboot after 40 minutes, I also have NVDA which is pretty
good, but still prefer JAWS).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
