[access-uk] Re: Help for a friend please

Hi Barry,

If you format the drive, doesn't the restoration disks just reinstall all that junk software by default?

Tom.

Hi,

I always, always, always with Toshibas, Acers, HPs, etc format them once I get them home after finding the OS product Key and downloading Drivers. the amount of bloteware the manufacturers put on them is completely disgusting.

Regards,
Barry.

Hi Adrian,

It's not a Toshiba by any chance, is it?

I had one here this weekend which was running very slowly. It had all
the usual done to it, and finally I resorted to looking up the precise
model in Google, where I got many hits.

Believe it or not, top of the list and what cured it, was a good blow
out with an air hose.

George.

Hi
My friend is having major problems with her vista laptop, it is
running very slowly. She has been advised to install and run ccleaner
but not having used it before, firstly, she has been told to back up
her registry, what is the best way to do that and can someone please
explain to me from a jaws user point of view, how she uses ccleaner, I
use a different screenreader.

Regards

Adrien
