With JAWS 6.2 you can find the edit box and do a search if you turn off the
virtual PC cursor.

I don't know how the site was working for you Damon, but I have managed to
get somewhere at least. By shear chance I thought I'd have a go at saving the
home page as a file on my computer, to have a look at the source code.
However, when I opened it the edit box appeared! Anyway, it seems if you go to
http://local.google.co.uk/?output=html
It works fine and you can search for whatever you want in the mnormal way.
As I say, not sure if this causes you to lose some functionality compared the
site you were using until recently, and you do get a message about your browser
not being fully supported, but it seems to work for me.
Thanks for indirectly introducing me to this service, it will be useful for
finding somewhere to go for Valentine's Day.

I am hoping beyond hope that I am wrong on this one. I am really quite
angry and my blood is boiling.
Google Local, a service that I loved and used often, now appears to be
inaccessible.
I've tried several ways into it but there is no longer an accessible
search box on the page. Say hello to dragging maps.
Please, someone else try it and tell me I'm wrong.
