[access-uk] Getting electronic stuff abroad?

Hi all,
I am off to Canada couple of weeks time. While I am over there, I am
thinking of getting few things, i.e. a mobile handset, mine is dying now, an
mp3 player etc. Is there anything I should be considering before doing
this. For example, could I use the mobile over here if I buy it from
Canada?
Can anyone suggest me a good electronic shop in Toronto at all?
