Hello all
The reason there is no mention of Mercury on the website is because it
is not on general sale via Dolphin. Hopefully the following information
will make things clearer:
The Mercury version of Supernova.
Mercury is available as two products:
1. It is pre installed on the RNIB Home Access Desktop
2. It is pre installed on the Sightsavers Dolphin Pen
Mercury is not available from any other source. It cannot be purchased
commercially from any software vendor or other agency.
All the applications are pre-installed and activated on your RNIB Home
Access Desktop.
When you switch on your RNIB Home Access desktop or install your
Sightsavers Dolphin pen the Mercury Application Menu will appear. This
gives you the following options
1. Mercury Control Panel
2. Microsoft Word Processor
3. Microsoft Outlook Email
4. Instant Messenger
5. Microsoft Internet Explorer
6. PDF Document Reader
7. Notepad
8. Scanner
9. Music and Video Player

Key Features
When you switch on your RNIB Home Access Desktop or install your
Sightsavers Dolphin Pen the Mercury Application Menu will appear. This
gives you the following options
Magnification
Text and images are smooth and clear up to 28 times enlargement.
Control of colour, contrast and brightness.
Smooth scrolling for browsing long documents.
Choice of screen magnification styles: full screen; static window,
moving window and moving window with autofocus.
Set up the screen exactly according to your requirements or swap.
Speech
Easy browsing of Internet web pages and other applications.
Mercury also scrolls the screen in Word, NotePad and Internet Explorer,
ensuring that screen reader users have the present focus available on
screen at all times
Reads or spells out any text on screen: documents, menus, web pages,
emails.
Reads icons and Internet graphics labels and announces font and style
information.
Talks as you type, by character, by word or both.
Works with any font, including accented characters and symbols.
Choice of software speech synthesisers.
Speech controls allow you to choose how much speech feedback you want to
hear by selecting low, medium or high.
