Dear Ms Weetman, Thank you for your email I have checked with the marketing manager of this launch and she has explained that the RNIB only promised delivery of the sale item of Harry Potter for the 21st, we said that it would only be available to order through Talking Book Service from 21st. We did not advertise the Talking Book version as being delivered on that day. Unfortunately, the reason is a technical one that could not be got around. We had to work under a very strict security contract from the publishers which prevented us from placing any files onto any networked computers ahead of 21st July for security reasons. The way the TB system works is that books only become "available" to order once they go onto a particular server which is, networked. So this could not happen because of the contracts with the publishers. The production of the sales items was done completely off network and that's how we managed to do produce this ready to send out on the 21st. I hope this explanation helps Thank you Rosie -----Original Message----- From: Christine Weetman [mailto:goatmum@xxxxxxx] Sent: 23 July 2007 21:48 To: Mailbox, CServices Subject: Harry Potter Not arrived? Hi, why did my Harry potter not arrive on the 21st after you had advertized it in magazines etc that it would be ready? A load of people on my access group have received their copy is it because maybe they bought theirs and I want to loan it? Hi, Christine, I have looked into this and apparently you probably won't have your copy on the 21st but it should only be shortly afterwards, we don't have an exact date. It should be worth waiting for. Regards Maureen Clements Customer services. "Don't miss out!
