Hi Derek

Many moons ago, there used to be something you could purchase from RNIB
called Freeze Alert. You tied it to the inside of your freezer, say on a
shelf or something, and it certainly bleeped if you left the door open when
it detected an increase in temperature. It was pretty loud and aggravating
when you were packing shopping away, for example, but it was a useful
gadget. I don't think such a device exists any more from RNIB though.

Similarly, there used to be a Rain Alert device from RNIB that you hooked up
to a sill with an outdoor sensor. I found this a brilliant gadget for
alerting me to rain if my son was playing outside as a child as he liked
playing in the rain if he got the opportunity, (smile). It was really
useful for knowing when to bring in the washing too. I wish we could have
this gadget back again! I remember that the window-cleaner who did his round
at that time used to tease the life out of the Rain Alert by splashing it so
that I'd go outside to find out what the weather was up to.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi all
Does anyone know if there is such product that would Alert one if say
the freezer went off.

I was thinking it might work like this.
Plug the alarm into wall socket, and the freezer into the Alarm. If the
freezer fails, the alarm would sound.

Regards, Derek
