Hi Will, it isn't the 20th yet. It may improve then. From what you say though it sounds very like you've got an inefficient aerial. I note you say it's a communal aerial. Are your neighbours getting a bad signal? Maybe your landlord should check the aerial to make sure it's working properly.

                   John.

Hi William

I don't think so but updates will be downloaded automatically. Are you
in a digital switchover area. You could try a retune and may get more
information. There may also be an aerial problem. The box takes the
information from the digital signal so you may have poor reception.

hi Paul

Have any software updates please been made to the current box?
it is ashame the speech stutters as others have said it is a good box
but these issues make it a bit tricky to use.
Also the "not information" aspect is a bit strange

RNIB was involved in the development of the box, but ultimately design
and speed of processor was chosen by the manufacturer. Price point is
always a big consideration with consumer electronics.

It must be remembered that this box is the first development and
demonstrates that products can be made accessible at a relatively low
price.

It is hoped that other manufacturers will include speech into their
products and that more advanced products will be given speech
feedback.

For William's buzzing, check the scart cable. There may be
interference
from the aerial too.

Freeview before the digital switchover can be of poorer quality but
should significantly improve when the switchover happens in your area.
