Jim, what I did was download AIM messenger which, if you request, adopts your
facebook contacts. Within AIM Messenger you can read facebook status lines etc
and it also has a very easy to use ...what's on your mind edit field. Google
AIM Messenger, download it and give it a go. You can easily uninstall it if its
not to your liking.

Hello Jim and all,

If no-one offers a means of freezing the field, here is a second best method
which should work.

You could take your time composing your messages in a word processor, copy it
to clipboard, enter Facebook, and paste your message immediately into the
chosen field, before the page times you out. You lose that feeling of
interacting spontaneously, but at least there is some interaction.

Hi List,

Every now and hten I have a go at using Facebook, but I usually last about 5
minutes and then I get so frustrated that I just give up. I find it very
confusing and difficult to navigate and don't quite know other VI users use it.
E.g. I go to the "what's on your mind" ffield and while I'm slowly typing a
short message I'm suddenly chucked off that field and find it difficult to get
back there.
Any suggestions?
