Hi all,

Sorry for the cross posting, but there has been an update to this and we have
been talking about it on all these lists.

I hope it helps.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [WordPress Security] GMail Phishing: Update with Official Statement
from Google

Just a quick update. Google reached out to me regarding the post we published
last Thursday
<https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2017/01/gmail-phishing-data-uri/?utm_source=list&utm_campaign=011817&utm_medium=email>
  describing a GMail phishing attack that is gaining popularity.

I have received an official statement from Google which I have published as an
update at the end of our post
<https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2017/01/gmail-phishing-data-uri/?utm_source=list&utm_campaign=011817&utm_medium=email#officialupdate>
 . I've included a few additional thoughts.

Regards,

Mark Maunder
