hi Douglas, I am with btbroadband, and they keep on sending me different
anti this and that, I just ignore them as I no my pc is well protected by my
own means.
if they package them on cds now, I think that you will have a choice to
install or not.

Subject: [access-uk] Extra software with broadband packages
From recent messages on the list (including one yesterday, which I
accidentally deleted!), I have got the impression that some ISPs provide
CDs which install antivirus, anti spyware etc. software in addition to
what is needed to access their service. I think that BT Yahoo was
mentioned.
I intend in the near future to switch to Broadband and a new ISP, but want
to choose my own defences - and particularly to remain a "Symantec free
zone".
I would appreciate any advice on ISPs who make such a requirement
difficult if not impossible.
Douglas
