Caroline, I bought an internal hard drive from Ebuyer about three months
ago, and I was very happy with the service I received.

Cheers.

Mark,

We have a Western Digital Passport drive which is powered from the USB port.
Ours only has a 40 gb capacity, but it is possible to buy the same model
with up to 120 gb, I believe. It is very compact, being half the size of a
DVD case, and comes with a detachable USB cable.

We bought ours from e-Buyer a couple of years ago and have had no problems
with it. I haven't bought anything from e-Buyer since, so I'm not sure
whether they're still recommended as a good supplier, but I'm sure you can
get these drives from other sources as well.

HTH,

Caroline.

Sorry can't help there, my Lacie big disk cannot be powered from the USB bus
but they are one of the big names in external storage.

Regards.
