They are pretty much of a muchness, as they say. PC World
have some good offers on at the moment in the 200 - 300 GB
or more area for under 100 Pounds.

hahahahah This is funny, but true to all computers, they
have a mind of
their own! So which is the Best Cheapest external har
drive? Please,
preferably a large one, though I don't want to pay over the
odds for one
Just a little bigger in memory!

Thanks, inexperienced, Christine W.----- Original Message

Hi Andy,

Just plug it in to the USB port, and pray.

Mine usually comes up with a dialog asking me what I want to
do with it, but that's just the once. Alt + F4 to dismiss
that dialog, and after that it just appears as an additional
disk drive in My Computer.

But then again............. Are computers not modelled on
Mother-in-laws with acute P.M.T. and a hangover - kind of
like my Vista system?

Subject: [access-uk] External Hard Drives

Hi all.

I'm thinking of purchasing an External Hard Drive, most
probably, from PC World.

My question is that I recently purchased a 4 GB Thumb Drive
for =3DA318.00. All I need do is insert it into a USB and I'm
presented with the Windows What do you want Windows to do
box. Does an External Hard Drive work in the same fashion
and is it usable straight out of the box, or do I need to do
some fancy formatting to it?

Best wishes.
