Just to tidy up the thread which I started yesterday - a member of staff at Eset has told me today that Eset Smart Security will not scan incoming messages from a Googlemail account if clients like Eudora, Thunderbird or Pegasus Mail are being used. Outlook is OK - I am not entirely clear at present about Outlook Express and Windows Mail. Of course any attempt to open the attachment of an infected message would be prevented by eset Smart Security, but having the tag confirming that a particular message has been scanned by Eset is reassuring and I may have to consider changing from Gmail as my main e-mail address. My Eset subscription has over six months to run and in all other respects I think that it is excellent software. .
