Hi Carl, not so sure about the data usage. But, on your laptop, you could perhaps uncheck (Automatically download message when viewing in the preview pane) in Options/Read page. I think this way the message header is only downloaded... Still though don't know if you need to worry much about it.

Anro, Thanks for the help, it's now working pretty good. Working with IMAP folders may take a little getting used to but it's doing exactly what Iwant. With the synchronising that's going on do you know if it is heavy on the traffic usage? I am going to be using my notebook with a pay as you gomobile broadband dongle so don't want to wipe out my data usage by moving emails about! First you need to find out if your host supports imap; I'd be very surprised if it doesn't. Then all you need to do is to re createyour email accounts in OE using the same details that you're using at present, except, choose imap as the type of email rather than pop3. Forget about the mail server machine thing. imap behaves somewhat like anhtml email account. So when you view your emails from either your laptop oryour desktop, you'll be viewing what's on the server. In other words your computers will be synchronised with the server all the time. Hope that makes sense? Can I do something like download them to my main machine and make that machine actlike a mail server so that my notebook can view the email when I'm out andabout. Am I being too complicated about this? That will keep your email folders synchronised alright. Currently I have my email on my desktop so don't have access on my notebook. Does anyone know of a efficient and cheap way of having my mail accessible on both machines and keeping them synchronised? Is this something a home mail server would achieve? I realise that I can grab my POP mail off the server and leave a copy still on the server to be downloaded by my main machine but that doesn't seem to be a very good way of running my projects. Anyone have any ideas?
