Hi Ray,

You are right, it needs the Active X control to perform the scan.

All the best

Andy, hope someone adds useful knowledge on this one from actual use of the
Driver Agent site, but it doesn't really surprise me it is asking to install
or use this Active X plug-in or extention. I think the on-line anti-spyware
and anti-virus scans do this too. No harm in being careful.

Subject: [access-uk] Driver agent.com

Hi all

With a view to trying to repair my NEC dvd_rw nd1300a drive, I have found

www.driveragent.com

This website scanns one's computer and informs of the latest driver updates.
When I clicked to allow this, I got a pop up message from Internet Explorer
regarding the installation of active X, which the website says it needs to
install ahead of scanning my PC.

Firstly, has anybody used this website, and is it safe? Secondly is it ok to
allow active X to install?

Thanks -

Andy
