Douglas, all drives that can read DVD's will also read CD's too. They're
just the same as far as the drive's concerned. Hope that helps.

I have been studying the specs of some Toshiba laptops and I note that the
expression "DVD-RW/DVD-RAM" is used.
Am I correct in assuming that these drives will take normal CDs and
CDRWs in addition to DVDs? I seem to remember that when I was looking
into such things a year or two ago the term CD/DVD was used.
Sorry if this is obvious to most people, but I want to make certain.
