Hi David.

Thanks for this. It seems from what others say then that I will need
batteries and a charger as well.

Graham

Hi Graham:

The latest model is the DS-50 which has more memory than the DS-30.

This I would wholly recommend.
I was first aware of it in January 2007 and bought it in August 2of the same
year.
It is more than a voice recorder.
It has many functions which are useful for listening to pod casts, books,
music, and recorded files.
It has many functions which are announced by the wave files which are
included in its memory.

I understand that some V.I. input has been made toward its design, it isn't
wholly accessible, but is a massively useful device as a note taker and
playback gadget!!!!!

I use mine majorly.

As regards battery life.
I am still using the supplied AAA batteries some 2 months later.
Obviously, the consumption is low!
I do have, however, some rechargeable AAA batteries in reserve!

I would be pleased to hear from anyone on the list about battery life for
the DS-50!

David

Subject: [access-uk] DS30 digital voice recorder

Hi all.

I am thinking of getting a new high quality digital voice recorder that is
accessible and thought about the Olympus DS30.

While I understand it is accessible, I believe that it only comes with
standard tripple A batteries and I would want to use rechargeables if
possible. Will the DS30 take these? I know the voltage of rechargeable
batteries is a bit lower than that provided by standard batteries. Also,
can I charge the batteries in the DS30 or would I need to buy a separate
charger to charge them in?

Regards

Graham
