[access-uk] Re: Cordless phone with answer machine reccomendations please

Hi carol

well, i don't bother using the phone book function on the phone so can't comment but its certainly easy enough to access messages and record your own answer phone message. i did have sighted help to change my ring tones, volume etc but, as this is something i wasn't going to be doing everyday i didn't mind having to get help for that.

Can you give us some idea of the spec in terms of memories on the phone, etc. and whether you can set up things without being able to see. Is the handset well laid out?

reccomendations please

hi jim

i currently use cordless phones which are made by ntl. you can either
buy
them with 2 or 3 handsets. there is an answer phone built in and it is
very
easy to use. The phones are didgital and the quality is superb. They
do
come with a speaker phone, but if you don't require that you don't have
to
use it. i believe the model is ntlv2001and they are available from
argos.
last time i checked the price they were around the £50 mark, so pretty
reasonably priced.

hope this helps.

please

Hi

I am in need of a new cordless phone and answer machine combo. I am
trying to find one that will be reasonably accesible when it comes to
setting up things like memories and reviewing, recording and
deleting messages.

I would prefer one that comes with 2 handsets. Although, provided it
is
possible to purchase a second handset that is not essential.

I do not like speaker phone and have no need for this as an option.

With regard to price, I am prepared to pay a decent amount for
something
that will serve me for several years to come.

I have a BT line which also carries my ADSL

Any advice or suggestions welcomed.

Jim
