Hi, You were so close. If you had typed in \\pc01\shared it may have worked. Hi Andrew, Well, I finally got the message. Put it down to my age. The bit that confused me was the name of the folder. It hadn't been truncated. I decided to start again from scratch and called the File Sharing folder 'Shared.' I did this with both computers and then, using PC02, typed \\pc01\sharing\uploads and got the error message as before, 'The network location cannot be reached.' I thought I'd have yet another go with the Network Setup Wizard but not unexpectedly, that also ended in failure. What a way to start the new year? I was hoping I could begin this one on a positive note but at this point, I think I'll give up and resort to drowning my sorrows. Happy New Year to everyone. May you all get what you deserve during the 2006. Hi,T He share name should be just bellow that box which says share this folder on the network. If you tab once after that radio button, you should see the box I am on about. Hi Andrew, Sorry if I seem to be thick but I'm confused. You said, >Where you went wrong was with the share name part. In that menu, when you >enable file sharing, the box bellow this is the name which you should use >to access the data.< I can't see a box with a truncated name for the folder I've created. After creating the folder, I open the context menu and press Enter on 'Sharing and Security.' Sharing properties opens and I place a check mark against 'share this folder on the network' and press Enter. I don't see the box with the truncated name for the folder anywhere. What am I missing?
