Subject: [access-uk] Connection to SKY Broadband not found

Hi All,

For some time now I have been having problems with connection to SKY
Broadband. Basically I start my pc and when trying to connect to the
internet I get the message "server connection not found". The rooter is
listed in the network connections, and indeed is connected, but cannot
get internet access.
I run the windows diagnostics program and it cannot connect to the
internet, and asks me to contact my provider for help.
Now when I phone SKY, opt 3 for technical help and report a fault, it
asks me to enter my phone number. While doing this, I re-run windows
network diagnostics, and miraculously after entering my number,
connection is restored!
Now this has happened far too often, and I smell a Rat! especially as
the number for support is a premium rate number, and is not included in
the SKY Talk unlimited package.
So it's another way of making money, and as I said this has happened far
too often, and many times the call has been automatically disconnected
as soon as the call got through. Stinks to me!
Has anyone else experienced the same. and If so perhaps Which and
Watchdog might take an interest.

Dave
