Hi Ali,

Yes, you can use Talks to read the scanned text. Go to the menu, then
choose text to speech, then textscout uses external screen reader. The menus
are still spoken in its voice, but the reading of the text will be done by
Talks.

All the best

Steve

Hi tony,

Hope you don't mind me replying, but I installed the demo today, the voices
are not brilliant but they say you can use your current voice with the
programme, although I haven't worked that one out yet, nor have they
provided cost as yet.

Steve,

Voice clarity and whether every bit of print on the page is captured?

Hi Tony,

Depends on how portable you want it. If you want portable, then you can't
beat KNFB or TextScout. Also, if you have a compatible phone for either of
these products, then it will also be cheaper than any of the others.

If on the other hand you don't want to read with your phone, or lining up
the camera is an issue, then you should perhaps consider the EyePal range.
These are much simpler to use, and no "aiming" of the camera is required.

I hope this helps.

All the best

Steve

Hi all,

I'm liking the new products where we can read instaantaniously!

NowI'm thinking of buying one of those products but of course I'd need to
know a little more.

I probably won't want to rush in but say reflecting over our up coming
holiday time!

Now I'm not looking for a definitive of those recent reading products but I
would like to know what you think the quality of those reading back wise are

like?

What gives the best results in reading back?

Talking of The Eyepal, Textscout and the KNF reader.

Only in terms of reading back to us that ticks all the boxes with regard to
what I wrote above.

No worries, will not judge on any particular response but would be good to
hear feedback.

Thanks

Tony
