the recording quality of the penfriend is quite wide
I have two
the first one has the best quality good enough for radio.
however the second is not as good.
but better than the average tape cassette

Each to their own, a very subjective topic, but I personally wouldn't rate the audio quality for recording on the Penfriend as that hot. |Yes it is a good device, and I have used ours extensively for labelling, but I wouldn't
really rate the quality on it for someone who has a hearing difficulty as
Andy has for taking messages.

Just a thought. Perhaps the DM5 or cheaper Olympus would be more suited to
you Andy as the recordings on those are very good indeed.
