Ah, I've found out why I had problems doing this in the first place. Sheduled
tasks are apparently now only available with the professional version and I
have the free version. However, I can schedule the up-dates.

hi,
1. launch the scanner.
2. press the scheduler button from there.
3. shift tab once, this will bring up the correct drop down box where you
can change the time of the scan.
4. press the ok button.
