Hi George. Its OK *smile*, I can get a sighted acquaintance over if I am in need, I just wanted to know if it was possible to set this up on my own and what the nature of the various accessories are, however when I can get the sighted help I need, doubtless she can look over the manual for me. I'm based in Peterborough though I don't have a regular helper as I like to be as independent as possible. All the best, Ibrahim.. ----- Original Message ----- From: George Bell To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2009 7:11 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Canon Printer Pixma IP4600 Now you've landed me in it! I don't set these up every day, but I'll try to give you some basics, bearing in mind I only have the 4200 and 4500. Don't plug it in just yet. The drivers go in first anyway. First, make sure you remove all the tapes that stop the covers coming off. They usually have a folded over end to get hold of, so are relatively easy to identify and pull off. Make sure you open the top cover, and remove the tapes holding the ink tank assembly in place. As I recall, applying power, then lifting the top cover, will bring the ink tank assembly to the loading position. This is now going to be a problem as the four narrow ink tanks appear to be interchangeable. Can you not get any sighted help at all? Where are you based? George. Sorry to write to you on the list about this *smile*, however upon your commendation of this printer, I'm now the proud owner of a Pixma IP4600. I see it comes with five cartridges and a number of accessories. Do you think you could send me some info about how to insert the cartridges and attach the additional accessories. Four of the cartridges which are the small ones I presume are the coloured ones whilst there is a black which is slightly larger. Any help gratefully received as I've no sighted assistance.
