Hi Mandy,

I doubt IE 7 is really your problem, but if you want to remove it, go to
Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select Internet Explorer, and hit the
remove button. This will take you back to the previous version you had
installed.

All the best

Steve

Hi George you know far more than I ever will about computers: however the
mail option in the control panel just appears to relate to which accounts
are set up whereas I'm sure what is being said is that Outlook Express is
not properly installed. I looked on Microsoft and found Service Pack 1 but
could not download it because we have IE7 installed or at least I think
that's what the message meant. How do I remove this to temporarily go back
to IE6 so I can try again to install the new Outlook Express?

Mandy.

Try looking at "Mail" in Control Panel.

George.

This is about Brian's computer not mine.
If he tries to link on an address in an email, you know that
comes up as sendmail link: the computer totally crashes and
he has to reboot. Not sure what happens onscreen but he
can't turn it off in usual manner and it says: this action
cannot be performed because the default email client is not
properly installed.
Sometime ago I looked at internet options, went to programme
and whereas mine says email: live windows, Microsoft
outlook and outlook express, Brian's just says Microsoft
outlook 1 of 1. Now Brian definitely has Outlook Express of
course: that's what he uses and before I installed
Microsoft Office it said there was no programme for email so
obviously there is something wrong somewhere linked to
Outlook Express.
Brian phoned a computer shop yesterday and tried to explain
the problem and they said it is somewhere in control panel
can someone tell me where and if so the step-by-step
instructions to put this right?
Please reply offlist if this is going to be a bore for
others.

Mandy.
