Hi all. A quick question for Scottish list members please. The Scottish Executive have today announced their intention to introduce new concession travel for elderly and disabled people in Scotland. The off-peak free transport will commence in 2006. On Radio Scotland this afternoon, I heard a spokesman say that the new concessions will wipe away all existing disability and pensioner concessions. At present, Registered Blind people get free travel on buses, trains and ferries throughout Scotland and the pass can be used at any time, including during peak travel times. Has anyone heard anything about these new passes? Will blind people no longer be able to travel free of charge during the peak rush hours? Or will existing pass holders retain their current travel passes and conditions. Best Wishes. Andy from Sunny Kilcreggan.
