Because to me, its not as controlable, you can't always tell from the hisss if its acutlaly lit, admittedly, safety is better than it was but even so, have felt this way for ages, even before our boiler nearly blew up thanks to a bit of dirt in the supply, that was thanks to a new gas pipe being laid, don't get debris in electric do you? LOL

I have always used gas, and can't figure why some blind among us feel it

True, that's one of the reasons mum won't have an electric cooker, no use
in
a power cut, I on the other hand hate using gas hobs etc.
