Hi Barbra.

I've never heard of this program. Can you send me more info?

  Hi

I've just worked this out, I knew it was a stupid question. I think the name
of the software I use is something like NCI DVD Fit or something like that and
yes, it tells me the info I want to use. I was trying to go the properties way
as Andy suggested, but I think it was just playing up. Sorted now. Thanks.

    Hi Barbra.

Do you have a cd dvd burning suite installed on your computer? If you do
and my personal choice is Nero, you can use a tool such as Nero disk info to
find out everything about the inserted disk including format, manufacturer,
supported read and Wright speeds etc. I'm sure there are similar tools
available for download off the internet, and if you have a Lite-on drive, they
provide a tool for doing just that free of charge so you might want to go check
the manufacturer's website for useful utilities.

Barbara - one way would be to highlight the disc, and press alt enter on
it for it's properties, from the amount of available space, you can tell which
of the 2 discs it is, but it will probably also give you a clue from it's file
format.

When I put a blank disc into my drive on the PC, is there a way of
finding out whether it is a CD or DVD without being able to see the disc?
