[access-uk] CAROL'S STORY . . .

Hi all,

Well, this isn't just my story but involves others too and I think
you'll be interested . . .. I personally am excited but also really
grateful to God for what He has done.

I have probably told some of you anyway the story of how Mike and I got
together. We started at a Sunshine Home for the Blind. I first went
there at two and a half. Our main memories centre around our having our
tonsils out together at the local hospital when I was five and he was
six . . .. (Now guess who wouldn't stay in his cot!) Well, . . . I'll
skip a bit and try to keep it relatively short!

There were others with whom we made friends at this time - we remember
Keith (who we have met since) and also Pam and Paulette.

What we didn't know until a couple of days ago was that the "Pam" we
knew then as "Pam Brown" is in fact none other than the Pamela
Hanson-Abbott we have all come to know and love on the list! Yes, it's
been some fifty years since I met her last and, guess what she remembers
- my blonde hair and crinkled face when I laughed! I never knew about
my "crinkle" until I heard it from Pamela, then I examined my face as I
laughed and had to admit she's right! As for the blonde hair, that is a
part of my Christian story and God's working because it turned from
blonde to almost black overnight when I had an extremely bad attack of
whooping cough whilst at Pirate Springs. (He kept me during a very
frightening time there over a six week period I had to spend alone in a
staff member's room. . . ..)

Well, we'll just let you into one further secret: What should I say
here? Mike (known as Mick to his family and friends when he was young)
has talked about his past girl friends, of course, and well, Pamela was
one of them. She was so kind to him when she had to "end it". They
have both wondered about each other since that time and now they can
catch up on what God has done with their lives so far. Mike,
apparently, was extravagant in buying her gifts - and he still is as he
finds little things to surprise me quite often!

Now we are really going to get to know Pamela once again and her
husband, Anthony, of course.

Isn't God good to bring us together again to share what He has done for
us!
