Hi.

Yeah, I had jaws loaded and it flashed successfully. It stuttered a great deal though so unless you don't mind that, your good to go otherwise disable the screen reader.

Hi Ibrahim,

I agree, but I wouldn't advise having your screen reader loaded when
flashing the BIOS. Or have you done it successfully?

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve.

If your using a bios update through dos as some bios updates are still done
that way, I agree that sighted assistance is desirable in case something
should go wrong. However, the majority of new laptops and desktop computers

and variants there of use windows-based bios flashing utilities. The NC10
is a good example of this.

All the best, Ibrahim

Hi Chris,

Always one to over-react, aren't you? <Smile>.

It is not asking for trouble to update the BIOS, it certainly should be
done. But sighted assistance is essential.

All the best

Steve

There's probably a way, but this must be done with sighted assistance and
extreme caution since flashing the wrong bios is asking for trouble.

Hi is there a way to update my BYos on my Dell desktop. It is one year out
of date and the machine thinks there is a flopy drive and that happened
since I had a RAM upgrade.
