Hi Carol,

No it is not just us. I have a very good sighted friend who is very up on
computers, and he says that Windows absolutely needs a reinstall after a
year, to keep it ticking at any sensible pace, and I tend to agree with him.
It is a hassle, but if you keep your data on a separate drive or partition,
move my documents for example, you can easily reinstall, if you have all
your software to hand.

I have an unattended install, but my friend Chris, the same chap we are
talking of, created it for me.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve,

I usually go about a year, or a bit longer, but this past install may have
gone two years and is now pretty ropey! I just need some sight to go
through it all over again and don't fancy that one.

Do you think sighted people go through the same saga of install, or do you
think it's mainly because we use speech software and/or can't always shut
down properly, or crash for no other reason that we can find, apart from the

speech maybe? Just interested on your thoughts here.
