Sorry about the confusion in programmesChris. Quite a coincidence in the names.

Yes, I would be grateful if you were able to pass on those details. Feel free to do this off list.

Many thanks.

Hello Peter,

We seem to be talking about two different products here!

The web page that you quote belongs to a product called RC-Wintrans, whereas the front-end to NFBTRANS is called Wintrans, and is free! Again, I refer you to the site

http://members.toast.net/mlbx/winbt/

If you are not keen on using the dollar commands in Cypher, then you will probably have the same reaction to using similar commands in NFBTRANS, which, incidentally, are preceded by a tilda!

I did have the same problem as you with Winbraille. In my case it was caused by the line of code printed at the top of the braille document. It is some time since I used Winbraille, so can't quite remember how I solved the problem. If you can hang on for a day or two, i'll let you know.

Cheers,

Christopher

The limitations of the Demo Edition are:
- The number of text entries that can be translated is limited
  to 250.

What is your experience of this?

My problem with Winbraille was that it suddenly started printing one line on a new page and then jumping to the next leaving practically a whole blank braille page. I did have the embosser checked by Dolphin and updated to the latest firmware and programme versions. I also ensured that the page length on the embosser was set to 13 inches for that size paper.

I do understand that the $ commands exist in Cyper but they are time consuming to insert and they do not offer the style flexibility that say WinBraille does.

Thanks to all for your contributions. I am gradually working through them.

Peter
