Hi Peter,

I have to declare a commercial interest here - I work for Quantum.

If you'd like to try a demo of Monty, let me know; I can send you a CD, or a yousendit.com link for the install file. Monty will work fully for 45 days, after which you can purchase if you like it. A single-user licence costs $152.

It isn't Duxbury, or even close, but it should give you a bit more flexibility than a demo of WinTrans.

It will probably not remain under development for very much longer, but for the time being it could perhaps do what you need.

Let me know if you'd like to try it out.

All the best,

I have Home XP, JAWS and run an Index embosser.

I have used WinBraille in the past but this has developed a bug which I have not been able to resolve. I then reverted to Cypher but this does not provide sufficient flexibility in presentation.

Duxbury and WinTrans have been suggested but at £385 and over £800, this is too much. I did see that WinTrans has a free demo version but one of the limitations is 250 odd text entries.

I don't mind paying a reasonable amount to obtain an effective programme but these figures are too high.

Peter

Hi Peter

Well I've been watching this thread but nothing has been turned up. Perhaps, you could clarify if your looking for a free software package and its for Windows? What is the embosser you wish to drive?

Hello

Can anybody recommend a reliable braille branscription programme. I find Cypher to be inflexible and Winbraille has some bugs in it which I have not been able to overcome.

Many thanks.

Peter Bentley
